18 Inch Alloy Rims

Eighteen inch is the largest size we would fit to most cars on Pakistani roads, and we are straightforward about the trade-off: it looks superb and it is hard on rims. At this diameter the tyre sidewall is short enough that it offers very little protection, and a pothole taken at speed is as likely to bend the rim as to damage the tyre.

That does not make it the wrong choice — on a larger SUV, or on a car that lives on good roads, an 18-inch setup is entirely reasonable and transforms the way the vehicle looks. It does mean the quality of the rim matters far more than it does at 15 or 16. A cheap 18 is the one most likely to crack rather than bend, and a cracked alloy is not repairable in the way a bent one often is.

We stock 18-inch in designs we are willing to stand behind, with documented load ratings. If you are set on this size for a daily driver in the city, our honest advice is to budget for a slightly better rim and a good tyre rather than the biggest set your money will buy — and to know that we also repair and refurbish alloys here, which is a service 18-inch owners tend to need sooner than others.
